How long have you been photographing weddings? Answer This is my fourth season photographing weddings in the beautiful Napa Valley region. A typical season includes about twenty weddings per year. Prior to working solo as a professional photographer, I assisted with some of Napa Valley's finest Wedding professionals for several years. During this apprenticeship period, I developed a keen eye for my own style of photography and gained the knowledge and experience I would need to excel in my profession. Every photographer has an individual style that makes their photography unique. Please click here to view samples of my work. What is your photography style? Please describe. Answer The main style of photography I practice is photojournalism. My goal is to unobtrusively and spontaneously capture the emotion, love and energy between the couple. I want to convey a sense of emotion to my clients as they look through their photos and relive their special moments. What photography equipment do you use? Answer I utilize a variety of equipment including 35mm cameras and professional medium format rigs. I currently have three Nikon 35mm cameras, Nikon flashes and a variety of lenses. My medium format cameras are complete with flash and a variety of lenses. This setup allows me to have several options for taking that perfect picture when the opportunity arises. How many rolls of film do you typically use in your photo sessions? Answer I do not place limits to the amount of film I shoot. The more film I am able to shoot will only increase the number and selection of great photographs for my clients. I will always try to maximize your choices and will not limit my creativity to set amounts of film. I will shoot a variety of both Color and Black & White film throughout the day. Can your clients keep the proofs and negatives? Answer Yes, the proofs are yours to keep. Approximately 4-6 weeks after your wedding, you will receive a combination of 4x6 and 4x5 images(depending on the cameras used.) All images will be placed in archival pages for your review. The color and B&W images are combined together in chronological order and then placed into an album for you to keep. Each image is hand numbered on the back to make ordering simple. The negatives, however, remain the property of Cheri Lynn Photography. This will ensure that you will receive only the highest quality reprints and enlargements. Do you have any references you can put us in contact with? Answer Yes, we are happy to provide references to you upon request. There are also several online testimonials for your review. I am glad to provide email addresses or phone numbers of several brides and clients that would be happy to speak with you. Are you available for destination weddings or for travel to corporate events or weddings outside of Napa Valley? Answer Although I am based in California's Napa Valley, I am available for travel to wedding destinations throughout the United States. My clients typically cover travel and lodging expenses. Can we request special photos to be taken? Answer Yes, of course you can! If there are "must-have" photographs you desire, please make a note of them including a list of "family" members/photos so that no one is forgotten. I take nothing for granted on your wedding day and will be happy to accomodate your requests for portrait imagery. Please try and keep such requests to a minimum because the truly memorable shots will be the candids that you have hired me to photograph. How can I book your photography services? Answer Once you have decided that Cheri Lynn Photography is the right choice for your wedding or corporate event, we will require a signed contract and a retainer to hold the date. The payment balance will be due one week prior to the event plus any applicable sales tax.
